Hospitality around the world: Senegal is number 6

The latest report of the World Economic Forum of March 2013 assessed 140 countries in the light of their hospitality towards tourists. In the assessment Table Germany takes the 83rd place, and Senegal ranks on place 6.

In Senegal hospitality means „Teranga“. In that country even lions are hospitable, as the national football team of Senegal is called „The Lions of Teranga“ and even takes the lead in Group J of the African teams in the qualifying matches for the Football World Cup 2014, which will take place in Brazil.

It is amazing, however, that the population of a country, which is still caught up in the midst of an economic crisis and even regularly demonstrates against expensive basic foodstuffs, ranks on place 6 among the 140 analysed nations worldwide. The new government of Senegal would be well advised to overcome the economic crisis, so as to enable Senegal to reach the podium. The Senegalese can indeed still hope! Because, who ranks on place 6 in the midst of a crisis, can theoretically reach the podium after the crisis. But hospitality has in a few countries around the world obviously nothing to do with financial funds. In those countries people share everything they have, no matter how and with whom. Such people should be visited more often
